Kantha Embroidery Midi Dress

Hand-stitched cotton with traditional kantha motifs Artisan Story & Sustainable Fashion

This midi dress showcases the centuries-old kantha embroidery technique from West Bengal, where skilled artisans hand-stitch each panel with running stitches to create delicate floral and geometric patterns. The organic cotton fabric is breathable and lightweight, perfect for warm-weather events or creative office wear. Every piece is unique, with slight variations that celebrate the human touch behind the craft.

The dress features a relaxed silhouette with a gentle A-line cut, falling just below the knee. Three-quarter sleeves and a round neckline keep the look understated, letting the embroidery take center stage. Each stitch is done by hand using a fine needle and thread that matches the fabric, so the pattern feels like part of the cloth rather than an addition.

Care instructions: hand wash in cold water with mild detergent, dry in shade, and iron on the reverse side. Avoid wringing or machine drying to preserve the stitching. The organic cotton softens with each wash without losing its shape.

Available in two colorways: natural ivory with ecru thread and soft terracotta with cream thread. Each piece is made to order in small batches, so please allow 10–14 days for dispatch. Sizes range from XS to XL; consult the size guide on the product page for exact measurements.
